Replacement Fastener Kit for Ball Joint Installation.

  • 4 Bolts
  • 8 Washers
  • 4 Locknuts
  • Castle Nut
  • Cotter Pin

    Bolts, washers, and locknuts are grade 8.


    Notes about Bolt Size:

    Over the years, AM General has upgraded the ball joints and the fasteners.

    Current production vehicles use 3/8" fasteners for upper ball joints, and 7/16" fasteners for lower ball joints.

    It is best to replace fasteners with the same size as currently installed. The following list relates wrench size to bolt size.

  • 1/2" wrench -> 5/16" bolt
  • 9/16" wrench -> 3/8" bolt
  • 5/8" wrench (bolt) or 11/16" wrench (nut) -> 7/16" bolt
